Forty Rounds, One Runaway Champion

From Tourist Trap to Hollywood, Phillip never let go of the lead — and Joe never stopped chasing it.

Some rivalries stay razor-thin the whole way through. This wasn't one of them. Across forty rounds of WalkAbout Mini Golf — every course from the neon sprawl of Tokyo to the ruins of Temple at Zerzura — Phillip (HARRBRO83) and Joe (PRIMO) set out to putt their way through an entire season, and by the time the last ball dropped on Hollywood, one of them had built a lead the other could never claw back.

A Runaway From The Jump

Phillip opened the season the way he'd close it: in front. He took the first nine rounds straight — Tourist Trap, Cherry Blossom, Quixote Valley, Sweetopia, Upside Town, Alfheim, Seagull Stacks, Arizona Modern, and Bogey's Bonanza all went his way before Joe finally broke through. That early stretch set the tone for the whole season: whenever the round mattered, Phillip's putter showed up.

By the time the dust settled on all forty rounds, Phillip had won 30 of them outright to Joe's 8, with 2 rounds ending in a dead-even tie — El Dorado and Crystal Lair, both settled by matching totals down to the stroke.

Joe's Bright Spots

Joe was never blown off the course entirely. He picked off rounds when it counted least to Phillip's overall lead but most to his own pride — Tethys Station and Holiday Hideaway back to back early on, Raptor Cliff's and Myst in the middle stretch, and a late run through Widow's Walkabout, Forgotten Fairyland, Around the World in 80 Days, and Tokyo that kept the scoreboard from turning into a total blowout. It just was never enough ground to make up.

The Numbers Behind The Domination

The stroke totals tell the same story as the win column. Phillip finished the season at 2,053 total strokes across 720 holes, good for -315 relative to par. Joe finished at 2,268 strokes, -100 relative to par — a respectable season on its own, just not one that was ever going to catch fire next to Phillip's.

Phillip's signature round came late, at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, where he carded a 42 — 17 strokes under par, the single best relative-to-par performance either player posted all season. Fittingly, Joe's own best round of the year came on that exact same course, a 46 (-13) that would have been a career round almost anywhere else on the schedule.

Then there's the aces. Phillip drained 38 holes-in-one over the course of the season; Joe added 27 of his own. Sixty-five aces between two golfers in a single season, and more than a few of them are sitting in the clip archive waiting to be watched back.

The Finish Line

There was no final-round drama, no last hole to decide it — Phillip's lead was already settled long before Hollywood, the fortieth and final course of the year, closed out the season with one more win in his column. Forty rounds, four hundred and some holes, and a champion who was never seriously threatened after the opening month.

Final tally: 30 round wins for Phillip, 8 for Joe, 2 ties, and a season-long margin of 215 strokes relative to par between them. Congratulations, Phillip — Season 1 champion, wire to wire.
